The TUF tubular softening membrane is a high-performance microporous filter specifically designed for solid-liquid separation and wastewater treatment. It features an integrated structure of sintered porous polymer support tubes and fluoropolymer membrane layers, combined with cross-flow filtration technology to efficiently separate suspended solids from feed liquids.
The membrane offers excellent fouling resistance, wear resistance, and chemical stability, making it suitable for handling high-concentration and abrasive liquids. It is widely applied in municipal, industrial, and complex water quality scenarios.
The TUF tubular softening membrane operates on a pressure-driven cross-flow filtration principle. Feed water enters the membrane tube, where part of the liquid permeates through the membrane to form the filtrate, while the remainder is discharged as concentrate.
Water flow inside the tube follows a cross-flow pattern, creating continuous turbulence that scours the membrane surface to minimize deposition and clogging. The membrane layer forms the main filtration interface in the “valley” regions of the sintered tube surface, while the “peak” regions provide mechanical support and protection, enhancing wear resistance and structural stability. Periodic chemical cleaning fully restores membrane flux, allowing continuous treatment of high-turbidity, high-particulate liquids.
l Strong Chemical Resistance: Operates across pH 0–14, tolerant to concentrated acids, alkalis, and oxidizing cleaners.
l High Concentration Handling: Suitable for liquids with solids concentrations up to 5% or higher.
l Excellent Wear Resistance: Maintains performance under abrasive conditions and coarse particle content.
l High Recoverable Flux: Operating flux of 200–500 LMH, fully recoverable after cleaning.
l Anti-Clogging Performance: Large-channel design generates turbulence to prevent blockages.
l Strong Fouling Resistance: Cross-flow scouring removes residuals and maintains a clean membrane surface.
l High-Precision Filtration: Produces extremely low SDI in permeate for clear water quality.
l Long Service Life: Durable structure suitable for continuous, long-term operation.
l Municipal Wastewater Advanced Treatment: Improves effluent clarity; ideal as a pretreatment unit for reverse osmosis systems.
l High-Concentration Industrial Wastewater: Effective for chemical, metallurgical, and textile wastewater containing suspended solids.
l Abrasive Liquid Filtration: Handles challenging applications such as slurries, black liquor, and other high-load fluids.
l Water Reuse Systems: Ensures stable operation of downstream membrane systems.
l Environmental and Resource Recovery Projects: Serves as a key pretreatment component in circular economy and recycling applications.
