The membrane distillation module uses PTFE microporous hollow fiber membranes, with the vapor pressure difference across the membrane driving mass transfer. It efficiently separates water and volatile substances from aqueous solutions.
This module is ideal for seawater desalination, advanced industrial wastewater treatment, and solution concentration. Compared to traditional distillation, membrane distillation can utilize low-grade heat sources, requires less space, lowers investment costs, and delivers a highly efficient, energy-saving, and reliable system.
Membrane distillation is a separation and concentration process using a hydrophobic PTFE membrane to separate the feed side from the permeate side. When the feed liquid is heated, vapor is generated, creating a vapor pressure difference across the membrane. The vapor passes through the membrane pores and condenses on the permeate side, separating water and volatile components from the solution.
The process can be driven at low temperatures, making it compatible with various waste heat sources, such as hot water, steam, or solar energy. Modular design ensures full utilization of thermal energy and high system efficiency.
