Membrane-Based Acetic Acid Recovery Process

Membrane acetic acid recovery process offering efficient separation and high purity.
Product Details

Product Overview

The membrane-based acetic acid recovery process is a high-efficiency resource recovery solution based on multi-stage membrane separation technology. It is primarily used to recover acetic acid from PTA wastewater while enabling water reuse.

Through optimized process design and integrated membrane systems, the process operates stably under complex conditions, effectively reducing production costs and environmental discharge. It is widely applicable in petrochemical and fine chemical industries for wastewater resource recovery.

Working Principle

This process adopts a multi-stage membrane separation scheme to efficiently recover acetic acid from PTA wastewater.

First, the wastewater is cooled via heat exchange to reduce thermal load and ensure stable operation of downstream membrane units. Then, pretreatment is carried out to remove suspended solids and part of the organic impurities, minimizing membrane fouling and extending service life.

The core separation process utilizes a two-stage reverse osmosis system:

In the first stage, the wastewater is initially concentrated, removing most impurities and producing a relatively high-concentration acetic acid solution

In the second stage, the permeate is further concentrated to improve overall acetic acid recovery while significantly reducing the acetic acid content in the produced water

Through this process, the acetic acid recovery rate can reach ≥80%, and the water recovery rate can reach ≥90%, enabling efficient recovery of valuable components and recycling of water resources

Key Features
