Membrane-Based Acid-Base Recovery Process

Membrane-based acid-base recovery process. Efficiently recovers acids and bases.
Product Details

‌Working Principle

The acid-base recovery process primarily targets sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions used in the production of viscose fibers. The basic steps include:

Pulp Treatment: Cotton or wood pulp is soaked in a 200-210 g/L sodium hydroxide solution, allowing cellulose to react with NaOH to produce alkali cellulose and generate a large volume of concentrated alkaline solution.

Membrane Filtration: The SN105 membrane technology is employed for filtration to separate sodium hydroxide and hemicellulose. The filtration efficiency of this membrane is more than ten times greater than that of traditional dialysis processes, effectively removing hemicellulose dissolved in the concentrated alkaline solution.

Recovery and Reuse:

The concentration of the filtered alkali solution is comparable to that of the original soaking alkali solution, with an average concentration of about 100 g/L, sufficient to meet production process requirements.

The filtered alkali solution can be reused directly, with recovery rates exceeding 85%, thereby reducing resource wastage.

Evaporation Concentration (Optional): If necessary, the filtered alkali solution can be evaporated and concentrated or adjusted with a small amount of concentrated alkali to ensure it meets production standards.

Product Features

High Recovery Rate: Membrane filtration technology can achieve sodium hydroxide recovery rates of over 85%, lowering raw material costs.

Efficient Filtration: The SN105 membrane significantly outperforms traditional dialysis methods, enabling rapid separation of NaOH and hemicellulose, thus reducing processing time.

Direct Reuse: The concentration of the filtered alkali solution is similar to that of the soaking alkali, eliminating the need for evaporation and concentration steps commonly required in traditional methods.

Environmentally Friendly: This process effectively reduces the discharge of concentrated alkali solutions, aligning with green production requirements.

Improved Product Quality: The quality of the filtrate is superior to that obtained through traditional dialysis methods, ensuring high purity of the recovered solution.

Application Areas

Viscose Fiber Production: Primarily applied in the viscose fiber production process, enhancing efficiency and reducing production costs.

Chemical Industry: The technology can be expanded to other chemical production processes requiring sodium hydroxide, supporting resource recovery and reuse.

Cellulose-Related Industries: Applicable in any process involving cellulose treatment, such as papermaking and textile industries, optimizing resource utilization.

Environmental Engineering: As part of wastewater treatment, this process reduces the environmental impact of chemical wastewater, enhancing the company’s environmental image.
