‌Overview of Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane Equipment

Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane equipment is a water treatment device that uses reverse osmosis technology to remove dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, and organic impurities from water, achieving purification and desalination. By applying external pressure, water molecules pass through a semi-permeable membrane, while dissolved solids and other contaminants are retained, resulting in high-purity water.

Working Principle

The core principle of RO membrane equipment is the selective permeability of the membrane. The RO membrane allows only water molecules to pass through, while larger solutes such as salts, bacteria, and colloids are blocked on the other side of the membrane. To enable water to pass through, the system applies pressure greater than the osmotic pressure of the solution on the feed side. Clean water is driven through the membrane, while the concentrated impurities are discharged.

Technical Features

Low Energy Consumption & High Efficiency: The reverse osmosis separation process involves no phase change, ensuring high energy conversion efficiency with relatively low energy consumption.

Wide Range of Impurity Removal: Capable of removing ions, organics, microorganisms, colloids, and heavy metals from water.

Ambient Temperature Operation: The process operates at room temperature, making it suitable for treating temperature-sensitive substances.

High Desalination Rate & Water Recovery: RO membranes can achieve a desalination rate of 95% to 99%, and they exhibit high water recovery efficiency, effectively retaining solutes larger than a few nanometers.

Simple Operation, Safe & Hygienic: RO membrane systems rely on low pressure for separation, featuring simple design, easy operation, and maintenance, while ensuring safe and sanitary operations suitable for various applications.
