Working Principle of Nanofiltration Membranes




Nanofiltration membranes are membranes with "nano-sized pores," positioned between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. They can selectively separate and remove small molecular proteins, polysaccharides, bivalent salts, and other impurities based on the molecular weight of the target product. The separation process through nanofiltration membranes effectively distinguishes between monosaccharides and polysaccharides, as well as monovalent and multivalent salts, achieving results that traditional methods struggle to attain.
