Nanofiltration (NF) membrane equipment is a highly efficient separation device used for water treatment, positioned between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis in terms of filtration capabilities. It is primarily used to remove organic compounds, pigments, divalent salts, heavy metal ions, and large molecular contaminants from water. Nanofiltration membranes selectively retain some monovalent salts and small organic molecules while removing larger molecules and divalent ions. Due to its high selectivity, low energy consumption, and broad applicability, NF membrane technology is widely used in industrial and municipal water treatment applications.




Working Principle




Nanofiltration membranes feature "nano-sized pores," making them suitable for the selective removal of small molecular proteins, polysaccharides, and divalent salts, among others. Through the NF separation process, monovalent salts and smaller organic molecules can pass through, while larger molecules and divalent ions are rejected. This allows NF membranes to effectively separate monosaccharides from polysaccharides, as well as monovalent salts from multivalent salts, achieving results that are difficult to reach with conventional methods. Nanofiltration’s unique selectivity makes it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications.
