MABR (Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor) utilizes a gas-permeable membrane for aeration and oxygen supply. Dissolved oxygen diffuses through the membrane into the biofilm, providing the necessary oxygen for microorganisms to metabolize and oxidize pollutants in wastewater. The gas-permeable membrane also serves as a substrate for the biofilm, supporting microbial growth. By employing a non-bubbling aeration method, MABR achieves nearly 100% oxygen transfer efficiency, making it particularly advantageous for treating high-concentration wastewater.
